Loaded Up! Let’s do this! #rbcreation
by bsom on Jul.10, 2011, under Contest, Red Bull Creation, Soup
All packed up and ready to go! Public display and judging begins at 3pm! Wish us luck. After 72 hours of sweat, rain, and Red Bull, we finished our creation. Worthy of description by Mary Shelley, our accordion-style mode of transport is sure to eat a few misplaced fingers if folks aren’t careful. But, when was the last time you had fun that didn’t have a least a little bit o’ danger in it? Step up, hang on and count your fingers when you’re done…
Rain Can’t Stop the HaHa Train #rbcreation
by bsom on Jul.08, 2011, under Contest, Red Bull Creation, Soup
Even though the weather has been…..terrible…..we’ve slogged on, making some important progress in the last few hours. Here are some construction photos, a video of our rainy build area and the first video proof that what we made will move in at least some fashion. Enjoy.

Actual building is taking place! #rbcreation
by bsom on Jul.08, 2011, under Contest, Red Bull Creation, Soup
Drawing, theorizing and arguing are over. Now is the time for actual building! After an additional run to buy some steel and tracking down a ‘big’ Home Depot, the HaHa dudes are in full on construction mode. RBBB from ModernDevice is being featured in one of the shots. Spoiler alert: the pictures below contain large portions of the build design.
Whiteboards and Junk Piles #rbcreation
by bsom on Jul.07, 2011, under Contest, Red Bull Creation, Soup
Know what that is? It’s a winning idea, that’s what! Well, we hope it is, anyway. It is just as tiny piece of what is drawn on our whiteboard, a small morsel, a teaser of our build idea. Any guesses? So, the junk pile was a bit disappointing. Miles was not too happy about the item selection process and let everyone know it. Hopefully, he’ll cool off soon. We need his delicious brainssss!
Welcome Hack-a-Day readers!
by bsom on Jul.07, 2011, under Media, Red Bull Creation, Soup

We’ve been Hack-a-Day’ed! Thanks for the traffic. You should all bookmark our site now so you can come back and see the awesome (and usually ridiculous) things we build on a regular basis. Also, keep track of the happenings at the Red Bull Creation challenge as we’ll be updating out site throughout this grueling 72 hour hack event. Gotta run to the sheet metal store now. So long and thanks for all the hits! {eeek squeak eeek for all you dolphins out there…}
“Maybe we should build an ark…?” #rbcreation

Rain delay? No way! The hack continues through the rain. Nothin’ gonna stop us now! Paul snapped these pictures of all of our stuff getting wet. Who was the genius at Red Bull that thought building us roofs would be a good idea but then left big holes in them? Oh, well, water is good for laptops, right?
Home Sweet Temporary Home #rbcreation

Our digs @ Red Bull Creation. Notice the sombrero on Jeff? Our signature ‘uniform’ for this challenge. Might come in handy later. Looks like rain.
Red Bull Topic Revealed: ‘Energy in Motion’
by bsom on Jul.07, 2011, under Contest, Red Bull Creation, Soup
Not sure how to take that yet, but that is the topic. Jeff noticed when the tool list was posted over a week ago that one of the sponsors makes tools almost exclusively for the bicycle market. Because of this, we figured some type of kinetic sculpture. I guess we aren’t too far off… Additional details forthcoming.
